U saw the health gyan? About pain? That philosophy works in yoga too. I have found that if you are holding a difficult pose and you focus on the few spots of pain, or resistance that comes in the way of the pose, somehow the mind relaxes, seeming to send that message that she/he knows of this pain. If you try to ignore the pain, or resist it, which a majority do who try to deepen the pose, the mind seems to give the message that this person does not know of this pain, so let us increase it, so he/she becomes aware of this. So, instead of deepening the pose, the entire body gets into a pattern of behavior and muscular contraction which will resist the pose. Wait, watch the pain. The pose will become easier:)
