Yesterday's answer, today's question

Answer to yesterday's query: How many times we breathe in and out daily, according to classical yogic texts?

ANSWER : 21, 600

****

TODAY'S QUESTION.
WHAT IS THE MANTRA WHICH IS SAID TO BE NATURALLY REPEATED EVERY TIME YOU BREATHE, 21600 TIMES?

Answer tomorrow...

( A tip: This mantra is now part of a hugely famous spiritual group. In fact, when I once wrote an article in Pune Times, one representative of this group wrote a semi-threatening legal notice sort of letter, saying the mantra belongs to his group!! Or something ridiculous to that effect. )

I'm in the US so by the time I came to answer, someone had already answered :-)
An interesting point though - I went to one of these 'spiritual workshops' and they were going on about one particular 'kriya' that would cleanse all of us and change our lives- and the instructor, armed with a tape(the good old tape recorder casette type) ,warned us that it was 'patented' (?) and should not even be 'uttered' when someone who had not attended the 'course' was around..I was amused and bemused at the same time.. How could something that will change your life be 'not shared' and 'patented'?Would you not want to tell the whole world about it and help the others too? After the class, I did try to reason with the instructor. But he somehow went on about the magic of the guru's voice etc etc.

Yes Anila soham, it is
And yes, I can guess we are both talking of the same group and the same mantra. I don't know if these fellows who teach this stuff, are they talking of patenting the mantra or the kriya?
I also wondered. The practice also is designed from pranayama tech -- a combo of bhastrika and kapalabhati linked to the mantra:)
Well, more power to them!
