ANSWER: To calm the mind before meditation u can use the following yogic tricks: ujjayi pranayama; bhramari pranayama; trataka; nadi shodhana pranayama.


QUERY:  How many hours gap do u need between a heavy meal and a strong yoga practice? And any clue as to the scientific reasoning behind this suggestion?

3 hours?so that the blood circulation can become normal..during digestion-stomach works a lot-due to which all the circulation is directed in that area-reason why we feel sluggish after a heavy meal..(I could be wrong..pardon me!)
