Yesterday's answer, today's question

Oh before we proceed further, Amrita pointed out to me that Sonia (both my students, still:) had gone on Rediff.com, on the message board, to defend me. So sweet of u Sonia, thks:) But  don't bother darling. I am indifferent to crap. U should know that. U should also become indifferent to it.. While I hugely appreciate your gesture, I suggest u don't waste your breath on such nonsense... Remember people want to extract reactions from us to waste our energy:)

ANSWER: The thumb represents FIRE. It can burn water, can thin air, can melt earth (volcano are just molten earth:)... I don't know what it does to space yet, but possibly something powerful .. So, the thumb is used to suppress or stoke other elements. The biological basis for this: thumb has one of the largest representations in your brain map (of the body).

BELOW I paste that biological map of your body in your brain -- this is science, which is yoga....

QUESTION: What does the other finger involved in the jnana mudra (index finger) represent?  The following day question will also be based on that, so THINK!!

Mam i almost did not react to those comments but then somehow for my sake (cos i know such crap doesnt matter to you) had to do write bak as couldnt do anything for couple of hours aft reading tht crap written against u ,just kept fuming within!

also ur so correct about people instigating a reaction which just sucks away all the good energy.will remember tht n will try not to react, but that may be difficult if someone says such utter nonsense about you :)

Since the thumb represents fire- I am guessing that the fingers represent the five elements.Earth, fire, water, wind and sky(space or ether as someone else would call).I am just not sure which finger stands for what :-)

Want to reiterate what Shameem said.I also felt my blood boil when I read those comments, but in the end its just a waste of our positive energy. From next time, enjoy the article and skip the message board :-)
