For making pranayama a spiritualised practice (mental focus, purity of purpose, clean thinking if u guys get boggled by the idea of spiritualism) concentrate on the flow of breath at the nostril. This must be more sensitised, and u must feel the breath hit the inside of the nose (while inhaling), and while exhaling focus on the breath till the last bit of it leaves the nose! Why? Because this calls for intense involution of the mind.
