Daily Health Gyan

The other day a thick wad of gum got stuck to my slipper. I was really annoyed. But I find that gum-chewing is quite a widespread activity amongst teens, as they use to clean up their mouths before a, u know what! Any case, there are tonnes of research ( I am sure funded by chewing gum companies largely!!) that suggest chewing gum can keep you alert(improve memory they claim), keep the mouth fresh by reducing acidity levels and fighting plaque, even aid weight loss..
As far as yoga goes, the jaw line is packed with acupressure points so yes, chewing could have some impact. There is the research which finds that if you are using a sugar-coated gum then u must chew longer to rinse off, with your own saliva, the sugar residue on your teeth. A minimum of 5 mins is suggested. Infrequent chewing or one-sided chewing (you may not have noticed, but we all favor one side of our face, depending on our molar health) can cause facial pain which has an interesting name. The best is non-sugar or with sweetener xylitol ...
I myself like chewing gum when I am getting my tattoo done (keeps me calm:)....

Like you mentioned chewing gum is beneficial but people should be educated on how to dispose gum after chewing.
