Daily Health Gyan

Bamboo shoots... somebody was telling me about bamboo shoot pickles from the north east.... Umm. apparently bamboo shoots can lower blood pressure naturally. Also have a type of cholesterol that fights the bad type... and lots of potassium (that is what women need when pms hits them)... so yes, where do you get bamboo shoots in Mumbai?  I should check out Pali market... it sprawls with vegetable exotica...

Bamboo shoots are available in the rainy season and they are usually preserved by salting for use in other seasons. But do you think such salted food is advisable for those suffering from high BP or with high levels of cholesterol? I usually partake fresh bamboo shoots in curry form or as a side-dish when it's available.(FYI, I'm from Karnataka)
