Today in class

Finally after tearing up my left knee (kickboxing, without warm-up:( I am able to do the sun salute without pain. Though I started on the sun salute a while ago, with the pain et al, now for the first time I am surprised to find the pain has receded. Otherwise, at the joint, esp in the ardhachandrasana on the knees, while rising up I would get the oddest pain, as if the bones were knocking together without the cushion to break the impact... which possibly they were doing, rubbing together!  Now that pain has gone.. which just proves my point, that we need to move on, from where we fall. However, backbends in the standing position still give me trouble and surprise me, quite a bit,  so I am taking them warily... but can see it is another place I want to move into, this month. Lotus is happening comfortably, but still the knee feels stiff, like it is in a  super-tight wrap and won't move as I wish it too. So clearly, there has to be more healing there, yet. So many simple poses gave me trouble immediately after the knee crack -up -- supta vajrasana, wheel, dhanu, even the cobra. Now am getting back into the body once more, loving the relearning. Healing is an intriguing, and a gripping place, in yoga:) This month, more of that relearning...

Take it easy and take it slow! Don't rush into things. I injured my back the same way and I started pushing myself and realized it late, which delayed the healing.
