Today in class: On the wings of a prayer...

Yippee. The Gajanam experience, started this Tuesday, has continued without any hiccup till today's morning class. It has been feeling terrific. I mean, Sharmishta was doing surya namaskar with unbelievable flexibility: even she said she did not why she was getting the inverted V so perfectly (she is a mad cyclist, so u can imagine that stiffness would be more the norm for somebody like her:) so much so that her head was on the ground and the heels fully flat. In the uttanasana (standing forward bend) her palms were fully flat on the mat, and her head to her thighs. Even she looked surprised. Mornings, that sort of flexibility is rather tough. And surprise, surprise -- Geeta who was struggling with the shoulderstand, suddenly swept up into it with perfect control. Plus, surprise surprise, she came down out of it with even more control. It is amazing for me, to see that. On the wings of a prayer....

But of course, I also believe that it works with those who believe they are entering the circle of energy the prayer throws up.. so if you believe in it, simply, and flow, you are moving into a fantastic zone of performance on the mat, for sure:)
