Yesterday's answer, today's question

ANSWER: In the commonly used mudra - called chin, jnana mudra(also vayu mudra or vayu nashaak mudra), the tip of index finger touches the tip of the thumb. The names actually change as per this pressure-- light touch or pressed down by thumb, is what I mean. Light pressure stimulates and focuses the mind... energy shift will be experienced (good when u feel sleepy. Pressing down with thumb, has exactly the opposite effect. The energy is controlled, mind is not overstimulated...(for the hyperactive, over-active mind).

QUESTION: The thumb is the determining factor in all mudras -- Why? BEcause it represents an element that suppresses or helps to control all these other elements. So what does the thumb represent???
