Daily Health Gyan

Just discovered pesto sauce -- it has a heavy fibrous texture and flavor which I like, tho I think if you are not into herbs u may find it needs an acquired taste. I found out that the main ingredient in it is basil, and it is pound so has to retain that texture-- with cheese, pine nuts (have blogged on it earlier) and olive oil. Basil it appears has a whole long list of nutrients, including the feel good vitamin Bs, manganese, iron and is low in cholesterol and fat. I mixed that sauce up with some ready made gnocchi (pasta, with cheese and potato:) and it felt like a nice thick stew. MMMmmm healthy eating is not so bad I am finding out, since thanks to the knee injury I have started relooking at my diet...
