Yogic tip for the day

I find that doing poses with awareness -- to the point of not shutting down the effort but by being full aware of it, and lightening it -- is the only way in which you can make asanas work for you, whether it is weight loss or healing. Doing it mindlessly subverts the results. This has been the most interesting insight I have gained as a teacher.. awareness is the only thing... when that falls in place, even when u did not actively seek weight loss, it actually happens on its own....or even healing..
