Yogic tip: relax, relax, relax

In order to stretch a muscle, it is important to relax it as much as possible. 

This is a tip from a Bihar school of yoga book. And what I keep trying to drum home into those people who have come into my class after having down power yoga sessions or the other equally horrible outdated thing called gym. They will begin a bouncy movement in the standing forward bend, thinking it will reach them down. this happens in the seated forward bend also.
