Most people are not aware of the problems of a badly held headstand, since it can actually load the body in the wrong ways.Below some commonsensical reasons why and when u cannot do the headstand:
- high blood pressure (tho i know many people who have done this once the problem is controlled)
- heart problems: mmm, BKS Iyengar has had a couple of heart attacks, but he still does that.. so really all that may depend on your complete practice and cannot be risked otherwise.
- weak eye vessels
- ear infections
- infections in the ears/eyes
- urinary tract infection
- kidney problem
- severe and repeated constipation
