Today's yogic tip

According to the Alexander Technique (of postural adjustments for healing), only when the body is balanced and stable can u use your voice. To lengthen the bhramari (humming bee pranayama) therefore, you need to keep your body relaxed but erect and feel comfortable... I myself find the length of bhramari is automatic if you involute your mind to some subtle expeirence of the humming bee sound u are making -- the hardness at the throat, or the soft vibration there, anything inwards. This calms the mind and makes you feel like u can go on and on...

YOGA IN EVERYTHING said...

yes, i hear there is a patent on it:) however, have attended a session on that and find it has a lot borrowed from kapalabhati/bhastrika and ujjayi pranayama. The sound is also from the original nirguna mantra so-ham (from which the word hamsa -- the free spirit) comes. as in paramahamsa. And in yogic literature it is the inner sound of your own breath which flows... it is also means I am That:) So, I don't know what to say about all that...
In depression avoid ujjayi -- because it lowers blood pressure -- low bp associated with depression. Plus hardcore ujjayi involutes the mind which is not advised in depression since it will magnify negative feelings...

Shameem how can ujjayi be good for thyriod if it lower blood pressure. I do have hypothyriod {take med for it}as well as low blood pressure and depression.
I was wondering why Ramdev says it cures thyriod problems infect it lower the blood pressure.
