Yogic thought for the day:

“Lack of regular exercise causes the joins and ligaments to become stiff and inflexible. Habitually sitting in chairs and rarely sitting cross-legged or performing exercise cause stiffness  in the legs, hips, spine and shoulders:” Dr Swami Karmanananda, in his book Yogic Management of Common Disease, published by the Bihar school of yoga.

To this I can add, the wrong type of movement can also cause stiffness -- using fast twitch (white muscles ) more can cause this and must be rectified with more slow and long holds in asanas.
