Yoga is indifference
Yoga is enstasis
Yoga is the connection of the empirical self with the transcendent Self.
I got this one from a new book by Georg Feuerstein -- who I find too scholarly sometimes (forgive me, since I am an illiterate, Georg-ji:) and Jeanine Miller, on "The Essence of Yoga", in the chapter which is talking of the mysticism of Eckehart .. Here are the latter's words, for you to get the idea, the yogis are there in all cultures:)
Listen to the wonder! How wonderful: to stand outside as well as in, to grasp and be grasped, to look on and at the same time be the seen itself, to hold and be held -- that is the aim.
